Rice Krispies Treats are an enduring classic, and over the years people have mixed different types of cereals in with melted butter and marshmallows to create updated versions of the classic treat. As always, though, you can leave it to Chef Josh Elkin to take things to the next level.

Taking to his Instagram earlier this week, the chef and content creator is giving us a new reason to crave something sweet with his peanut butter-packed Reese’s Krispy Treats. Topped with a chocolate-peanut butter swirl, these incredible-looking treats just may be some of the best you’ve ever seen.

“Everyone loves Rice Krispies Treats, and if you like peanut butter and chocolate you’re gonna love Reese’s Krispy Treats,” he says at the beginning of his Instagram Reel. “Not sorry.” Cue satisfying marshmallow pull!

To make them, melt butter in a pot, add the marshmallows, and mix them in until melted. Then, add in an entire box of Reese’s Puffs cereal before combining everything and transferring the sticky mixture to a parchment paper-lined baking tray. Spread out the mixture to create an even layer, then place it in the refrigerator.

While the mixture is chilling, create the topping by melting Reese’s peanut butter baking chips and semisweet chocolate chips in two separate bowls. Spread the melted chocolate over the cooled Reese’s Krispy Treats using an offset spatula, butter knife, or any other type of knife or spatula you have on hand. Drizzle the melted peanut butter in lines, then use a wooden skewer or chopsticks to make the swirls. Place the Reese’s Krispy Treats in the refrigerator until the topping hardens, then remove them from the tray and cut into squares. And voila! That’s it.
