As Reese Witherspoon continues to expand her media empire, she’s taking notes from her book club for a brand-new cooking show. Witherspoon’s production company, Hello Sunshine, along with Reese’s Book Club, is teaming up with KitchenAid on a new Instagram series that will partner host Christina Milian with authors of past book club picks and other women chefs. The four-episode series will bring popular novels to life by — you guessed it — creating a dish inspired by each book.

Eat the Book recently premiered on Instagram, with chef Karyn Tomlinson joining Milian and bestselling author Jasmine Guillory to whip up tacos and sour cream “ice cream” inspired by Guillory’s 2018 novel “The Proposal,” with the new recipe taking cues from the book’s lead characters, Nik and Carlos, and their spicy first dinner date.

Other book club picks and authors who will be featured on the four-episode series include Tembi Locke (author of From Scratch), Delia Owens (author of Where the Crawdads Sing), and Amanda Eyre Ward (author of The Jetsetters). Chefs Genevieve Gergis, Kim Prince, and Sara Kramer will join the authors and Milian in the kitchen as they share stories and cooking tips.

New episodes will drop every Thursday at 1 p.m. EST from February 18 through March 18 on Instagram, and that’s not the only exciting new offering from Witherspoon’s book club: Bookworms can check out the just-launched Reese’s Book Club App, available for free on iOS and Android devices. Members can also join hosted events, discussions, and virtual meet-ups to help them connect with authors and fellow book-lovers, as well as purchase book picks from book retailers directly. The app is designed to enhance the reading experience long after saying farewell to your favorite characters, while finding like-minded readers and writers to connect with.
