No, Ree Drummond Is Not Going to Sell Face Cream
The way she cooks, it wouldn’t surprise us if Ree Drummond kept her shimmery skin fresh by smearing it with butter each morning, but it seems that’s not her secret — and neither is the facial cream apparently being hawked on Facebook with a fake endorsement from her. On her blog this weekend, the Pioneer Woman quelled any suspicion she might be leaving the Food Network to sell skincare products full-time.
“There is a wacky rumor circulating around Facebook that I have decided to quit my Food Network show and devote my life to selling facial cream. The source of the rumor is an unscrupulous company trying to trick people into buying (you guessed it) facial cream. I have nothing to do with this facial cream (please don’t buy it!), and more importantly: I am not quitting my Food Network show!”
In this spokesmodel/influencer era, nothing would surprise us — and in 2016, she did offer some anti-aging tips and tricks and she has done the occasional makeup roundup. But after vehemently denying the rumors from Facebook (and doing a good job of not linking to the offending company for people to hate on, proving her incredible kindness even to people stealing her endorsements), she tells us the best news: She’s back, and in a big way. “I’m just getting warmed up, man! The past seven years have just been one gigantic dress rehearsal!” She goes on to say that she’s got a full slate of new episodes — one each weekend through the end of the year — and is planning her next cookbook (on which Ree fans already weighed in on the topic).
So while she admits things have been a little slow in blog-land, it’s reassuring that she’s got many more hours worth of stuffed and grilled French toast and recipes under 40 minutes to make waiting in the wings. And while we’d love to have her healthy Oklahoma glow, pork chop sheet pan suppers are the next best thing.
