While cool, crisp watermelon gets so much of the love this time of year, cantaloupe casually sits on the sidelines, waiting for someone to call it onto the field. It’s just as sweet and refreshing, but all too often lurks in the shadows of its pink counterpart, who gets blended into cocktails, tossed in salads, and more. Luckily, this smoothie changes that; it puts the orange melon right in the center of the action — exactly where it deserves to be.

A Smoothie That Showcases a Single Fruit

The majority of smoothies out there contain a hodgepodge of fruits and sometimes veggies. While a mix makes for something tasty, it’s nice to let one fruit shine on occasion. When cantaloupe is in season and at its peak candy sweetness, it deserves the spotlight. Here, it’s blended with nothing more than a little honey, spicy fresh ginger, tart lime zest, and Greek yogurt for a thick, pastel orange smoothie that’s all about the melon.
