One of our goals at The Kitchn is helping our readers make home-cooked meals easier, quicker and more stress-free. We met one reader, Jennifer, who loves to cook for her family, but who needed help finding wholesome recipes that she could prepare quickly after work and before her children's bedtime. To help streamline her time in the kitchen, we had her take the FlavorPrint quiz to get personalized recipe recommendations inspired by flavors she had on hand. Ariel, one of our editors at The Kitchn, sat down for dinner with Jennifer to talk kids, cooking, and the Flavorprint experience.
FlavorPrint is a desktop and mobile service that provides personalized recipe recommendations based on the flavors you love, the cooking techniques you prefer, and the pantry supplies you already have in your kitchen. It takes the guesswork out of meal planning and helps reduce your time and money spent shopping by suggesting dishes that work with what you already have and enjoy.
Jennifer got a bunch of recommendations that were spot on. She made a Moroccan Bean and Pepper Stew, which her daughter loved. Hearty but healthy, it reminded Jen that comforting, sweet flavors like cinnamon work beautifully in savory dishes. She also made a Citrus Salmon with Orange Salsa. Jennifer loved the idea of making a fresh fruit salsa, a perfect way to dress up a piece of fish.
For Jennifer, mealtime is now the perfect time to bring her family together around the dinner table – stress-free and full of flavor!
