The “So Delicious” Dessert My Mom Serves Every Holiday (It’s a Hit Every Time!)
For as long as I can remember, my family has always hosted Thanksgiving. My grandpa would come over and spend the night on Wednesday. My mom would prep the pies on Wednesday night, and then my grandpa and my mom would get up early on Thursday to begin working on the big meal. My grandpa has since passed, and now it really has become my mom’s holiday (with the exception of last year because she had a knee surgery around Thanksgiving that kept her from being able to host).
She regularly tweaks the menu a little bit. There are the mainstays, of course, like both turkey and ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie. But she’s tried some new things over the years that have been real hits, like introducing a homemade baked mac and cheese to the lineup. Another one of her hits that has required next to no effort? Junior’s Mini Holiday Cheesecake Assortment from QVC. Not only are they available on QVC’s site right now, but they’re also on sale for just $100.
What Is the Junior’s Holiday Mini Cheesecake Assortment?
This set offers 32 mini cheesecakes in four festive flavors: Strawberry Swirl, White Chocolate X-Mas Tree, Chocolate Cherry Crunch, and Crumb Apple. You can keep them in your freezer until you’re ready to break them out for the big holiday(s), and they’re packed into two trays of 16. My mom says this is particularly handy because then you can set out one tray on Thanksgiving and keep the other frozen until your Christmas celebration. She’s also brought the remaining cheesecakes to family Christmas parties and broken them out in her own home in years when she’s ended up hosting both Thanksgiving and Christmas for our relatives.
According to QVC’s website, these mini cheesecakes will be shipped as early as November 4 and should be on your doorstep just a couple of days after that, so you can totally get these in time for Thanksgiving. For those who are looking for a low-effort dessert for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas, this one is definitely a crowd-pleaser.
Why My Mom Loves Junior’s Holiday Mini Cheesecake Assortment
My mom initially bought these as an additional dessert to have at Thanksgiving. She usually offers an array of pies from pumpkin to French silk, along with her beloved chocolate chip cookies that the family usually devours. She said she was originally interested in trying these mini cheesecakes “because it’s something different from apple pie, pumpkin pie, and so on.” Plus, they have the added benefit of being appealing to both adults and kiddos, she’s found. “Little kids love just basic strawberry cheesecake,” she said.
“They’ve gone over really well,” she said about our family’s reception to the cheesecakes. “They’re a perfect dessert size — especially after you’ve eaten Thanksgiving-sized portions.” After hosting Thanksgiving for around 20 years, she’s noticed that our family will often take the dessert that’s easy, like a cookie or these mini cheesecakes, instead of cutting a slice of pie. She told me she’s bought these treats three or four times and is planning to snag them for Thanksgiving again this year.
Not every new addition to my family’s Thanksgiving menu has gone over well. When I was younger I wanted to be a chef and tried to make homemade cranberry sauce for the holiday. Although a few people ate it, everyone preferred the classic canned stuff. So when something new works, why take it off the menu? That’s why these Junior’s mini cheesecakes will remain a part of my family’s Thanksgiving dessert spread.
