I’ve never been a breakfast person. In fact, eating first thing in the morning has always been kind of revolting to me; even the smell of bacon sizzling on the stove wasn’t enough to entice me out of bed as a kid. For a long time, coffee was about all that I could stomach, but then I got a restaurant job. My brunch shifts would start early in the day, and the smell of breakfast food would eventually get to me, causing me to put in a kitchen order. My shift meal of choice? Croissant sandwiches, fried up with cheese. They were so good, in fact, that I got all of my coworkers hooked. But when I left that job, I went back to not eating breakfast. It wasn’t until recently that I rediscovered my morning appetite and my love for croissants. After trying the Authentic Gourmet classic French butter croissants from QVC, I now go to bed with the thought of eating them for breakfast — they’re that good. And they’re so easy to prepare, too!

What Are the Authentic Gourmet Classic French Butter Croissants?

My croissants arrived packed with dry ice, and all 18 of them were securely stored inside a plastic bag that I promptly placed in the freezer. At first, I was reluctant to eat them in the morning, but on the days I go into the office, I find myself immeasurably hungry by 11 a.m. As a result, I willed myself to bake a couple of them while getting ready to help stave off the hunger. It wasn’t long before their buttery smell lured me to the kitchen, and I actually found myself looking forward to eating them. Thankfully, the croissants only took about 15 minutes to bake before they were done. It’s recommended that you thaw them an hour or so before baking; I usually move mine from the freezer to the fridge overnight, so they’re relatively soft by morning and don’t take as long to cook. They’re seriously the easiest breakfast ever, but taste just as good as freshly made pastries.

Why I Love the Authentic Gourmet Classic French Butter Croissants

As I already mentioned, I love croissants, but finding good ones is more difficult than you might think. Store-bought croissants are usually flakier than I like and not soft enough. Similarly, croissants from coffee shops are hit or miss. If you don’t get them as soon as they’re ready, they tend to become stale quickly. But with the Authentic Gourmet croissants, I get soft, flaky, and fresh-tasting croissants every time. The fact that frozen croissants can taste like someone just spread warm butter over them astounds me, but that’s the case with these. And, the longer you let them cook, the bigger and fluffier they get. They satisfy my morning cravings without being too heavy, which is all thanks to their light and airy texture. QVC shoppers also love them. “They melt in your mouth,” one reviewer wrote. “Smooth and buttery delicious. They have the whole house smelling so good.”

If you’re looking for croissants you can use for sandwiches, I’d say these are too small. Although they fluff up, they’re too delicate to slice through, and they’re no longer than about 4 inches. But they’re so good on their own, you don’t really need to add anything to them. If you want a simple yet tasty breakfast or snack food, give the Authentic Gourmet croissants a try. If you’re not already a breakfast person, these are sure to convert you. They’re on sale right now, and first-time QVC customers can save an extra $20 off orders of $40 or more with code HELLO20.
