This Compact but Powerful Air Purifier Quickly Clears the Air in My Kitchen After Cooking

Ever since I got my first air purifier, I’ve been conscious of the air quality in my home. Putting purifiers in different rooms rather than constantly moving one around is appealing to me because they come in so many sizes and shapes. While round purifiers might be the most recognizable, there are also tall, flat, big, and small options. Being mindful of the space that I have available, I was curious to find options for compact air purifiers that still did big-time cleaning in rooms like my bedroom and kitchen. That’s how I came upon the Pure Enrichment PureZone 4-in-1 air purifier.

The Pure Enrichment PureZone is a tall and narrow air purifier that fits excellently in small spaces. It’s cleaning power can stretch as far as 190 square feet, so I often use it in my bedroom, since the living room is already covered by the aeris aair lite. There are multiple methods of setting the PureZone to suit a wide range of purifying needs. For everyday air cleaning, I didn’t venture past the purifier’s HEPA filter; however, there’s also the option of tackling airborne germs with a UV-C sanitizing light and an ionizer.

Equipped with three fan speeds and an Auto mode, the PureZone can work as hard as you need it to. None of the fan speeds are particularly noisy. On the lowest, I can’t hear the purifier at all; and on the highest, it sounds like gentle white noise. There’s even a light indicator at the base that lets you know the status of the air quality in the room. Mine never changed from blue, which means the air quality is good. Red indicates poor air quality, and orange lets you know that the air quality is fair. On Auto mode, the fan will adjust on its own to clean the air in the room, so you don’t have to keep an eye on it.

I rarely left the PureZone running continuously, even though it’s fine to leave it on throughout the day. Since the purifier stays in one room most of the time, I prefer to use its timer due to the convenience. The PureZone can be set to run for two hours, four hours, and eight hours. During my weekend housecleaning, I set it to four hours, and go on with my day. The PureZone does leave behind a light scent when it’s done cleaning. If you’ve ever used a UV sanitizer for your glasses or cell phone, you’ll be familiar with the smell. I didn’t find it to be bothersome as it goes away after a short period.

One of the elements of the PureZone that I love the most is that it can be placed more easily in areas where round purifiers would take up more room. There’s also a built-in handle at the top of the tower that makes it really simple to pick up and move around. I’ve used the PureZone in conjunction with my living room purifier to clear the air faster after cooking (unfortunately, the vent above my stove is not the strongest), and was able to see evidence of its effectiveness as the air quality reading on the aair lite improved once I turned on the one from Pure Enrichment across the room. The UV-C light and ionizer sped up the process even more, though I don’t use either of those features often. 

For me, this was the perfect choice for a second air purifier. There have been times when I’ve needed to move it out of sight in order to clean around it, and since it’s so lightweight, I can tuck it into a corner of the bedroom or my walk-in closet without strain. I’ve already recommended it to a handful of my friends and family members!
