Is Publix Open on Thanksgiving 2023?
Thanksgiving can be a lot of fun, but it’s also a lot of work. Every family has their holiday traditions, which may include a stuffing recipe or a preferred pie for dessert, and that means exhausting rounds of group texts with loved ones and email chains as we decide which sides to enjoy and how to season this year’s turkey. That, of course, leads to many rounds of grocery shopping and a time to wonder about Publix Thanksgiving hours, and whether they are open on the holiday.
What Are Publix’s Thanksgiving Hours?
Publix is an essential part of many people’s shopping needs, and for that reason, this grocery chain is closed only three days a year. Now what we really need to know: Is Thanksgiving one of those three days?! It is, plus Christmas and Easter.
A post on Publix’s corporate site explains: “Since our founding, we have been closed on these three holidays in observance of the holiday and to allow our associates time with family and friends.”
So, unfortunately, there won’t be an opportunity to run out Thanksgiving morning and pick up some last-minute milk or eggs at Publix. But they will be open the day before Thanksgiving, so Wednesday night grocery runs are still an option. And for anyone who needs caffeine or a pastry before Black Friday shopping, Publix will be open the day after Thanksgiving as well. Back to business as usual.
As Publix is nearly always open, there’ll be plenty of other opportunities to stop in and take advantage of some of their popular features, from private label brands to a bakery and deli section that has garnered a loyal following over the years.
