Publix, one of the largest grocery chains in the Southeast, has become well-known for one coveted item: pub subs. Fans can’t seem to get enough of the store’s endless options of meats, cheeses, and breads, all made with high-quality ingredients. Publix’s most popular sub flavors are the Italian and the Chicken Tender Sub. The store also recently released a new item: the Italian-inspired Tutto Pugliese bread, which is upping their sandwich game even further.

So if you’re planning a day to the beach or picnic in the park and want to stock up on a few sub sandwiches (as well as any other items you might need), can you count on Publix on the Fourth of July? Yes, Publix will be open on the July 4, 2024, with their regular store hours.

Beyond the iconic subs, Publix is also known for the store’s crispy fried chicken and bakery items. So if you want, you can get everything you need for your Fourth of July party from Publix without even having to turn on the oven or fire up the grill. (No one’s judging.)

If you are planning to cook, however, let us help you out with a few menu items. We’ve got plenty of grilling recipes including the ultimate baby back ribs, delicious grilled Hawaiian sliders, or easy spice-rubbed drumsticks. To go along with those grilled mains, whip up a large batch of this easy pasta salad loaded with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and mini mozzarella balls. Or skip the mayo and try this French-inspired potato salad which gets its flavor from fresh herbs and Dijon mustard.

Summer is the perfect time to make use of all the delicious produce in season. Make some fresh corn on the cob and try out these 13 fun toppings like Tajín, everything bagel seasoning, and hot honey. We’re sure your guests will be talking about these flavor combinations for days. Or stock up on fresh peaches and make this gorgeous peach delight icebox cake. For some patriotic desserts that fit the theme, try this layered red, white, and blue trifle or this surprise-inside flag cake
