This weekend I recieved the new, holiday themed West Elm catalogue and it seems this year, the official colors for the holidays are a very sophisticated mixture of Tiffany, teal, and cobalt blue, various shades of chartreuse, and platinum. It's all about shine and sparkle. One item in the catelogue that really spoke to me was their Platinum-Banded dinnerware. I love glass plates and these, with the wide silver band at the edge, are particularly festive and modern.
The best part is the dishes are quite affordable - $39 for a set of four dinner plates and for a set of four bowls or four salad plates, it's only $29. The bowl would look beautiful with a creamy pureed soup in it and I would probably use the salad plate for dessert instead. The platinum collection also includes bar and glassware, I particularly love the beautiful ice bucket. Monograming is available, which would make this a great gift.
