Whenever I’m working, I like to have a fun beverage on my desk. (I’m convinced the cup alone makes me more productive.) Anytime I’m headed to the office, the temptation to nip into a nearby coffee shop and pick something up is HIGH. But those lattes I love so much can really add up. So when I simply can’t justify spending upwards of $7 for a cup of coffee, I try to recreate it at home (or in the office kitchen).

During the holidays, that means swapping in fun, seasonal flavors in place of my everyday coffee creamer. Enter: Planet Oat’s Gingerbread Oatmilk Creamer. After making its debut last October, the beloved oat-milk brand brought back its cookie-inspired dairy-free creamer — and my morning coffee is all the more merrier for it.

What You Should Know About Planet Oat Gingerbread Oatmilk Creamer

Holiday baking is well underway (have you chosen what cookies to make this year yet?). And this returning seasonal creamer brings a classic gingerbread flavor right to your mug. The Gingerbread Oatmilk Creamer contains oat milk, cane sugar, and sunflower oil, among other ingredients to recreate one of the season’s most iconic cookies — in liquid form.

It’s dairy-, peanut-, soy-, and gluten-free and available now until Santa goes back into hibernation (aka until the end of December). Look for it at retailers nationwide including Walmart, ACME, and ShopRite as well as online. (You can find where it’s sold near you here.)

My Honest Review of Planet Oat Gingerbread Oatmilk Creamer

First, I sipped a tiny bit of the creamer on its own (for research purposes, obviously). It was thick and creamy, and, despite containing no dairy, similar to melted ice cream. It had a nice sweetness and flavors that instantly reminded me of a gingerbread cookie. A promising sign, no doubt!

Channeling my inner barista, I used my handy-dandy milk frother to foam up some oat milk, poured that into a mug of coffee, and then topped it all with the gingerbread creamer. One sip in, and I knew my morning was about to get a whole lot more festive.

The gingerbread flavor pairs seamlessly with the coffee, adding those warming spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, and, of course, ginger. The flavor of the creamer isn’t overpowering either (if anything I’d prefer just a tad more of that punchy ginger flavor). As the spices do linger, I also tasted some rich notes of molasses and deep caramel, like you’d find in the cookie or a homemade ginger snap
