No wonder you always reach for that second (or third) slice. In a recent study from the University of Michigan, the Italian dish was the food that participants were most unable to resist, as graded by the Yale Food Addiction Scale (yes, there is such a thing).

Unsurprisingly, many of the other top contenders on the list — chocolate, chips, cookies, ice cream — were also considered processed foods by the creators of the study. You have to skip all the way to number 10, which happens to be cheese, to find an “unprocessed” food.

The tricky thing about the study is that they only examined 35 foods, so it is really more of a ranking of those foods than a definitive list. We don’t have any qualms with pizza at the top, but the methodology does explain why beans, carrots, and cucumbers round out the bottom of the list.

What would score the top spot for you as the most irresistable food on the list?
