The One Food the Pioneer Woman Could Eat Every Day
If you had to eat one food every single day — a required vitamin, if you will — what food would you choose? For the Pioneer Woman, that question has a super-easy answer that leaves all her options open.
For Ree Drummond, the answer to what food she could eat each and every day is cheese, she tells Today: “Cheese of any kind. I will take it any way I can get it. I love melted Swiss. I love cubes of white cheddar. I love goat cheese, feta cheese on a salad. The list goes on. I never met a cheese I didn’t like.”
It’s an answer that won’t surprise any devotees of her comfort food recipes, which often use cheese in nearly overwhelming amounts. But it’s good to know that it doesn’t even matter which kind of cheese; she doesn’t pick favorites. “It really just depends on what I’m making and what I’m using it for.”
A search of her website for the word cheese brings up more than 5,500 different results. There are cheese straws, cheddar puffs, shells and cheese, a holiday cheese ball, garlic cheese bread, and so many more. Her famous original macaroni and cheese, in fact, requires a full pound of it.
It’s become a bit of her signature thing, points out Today, quoting tweets from people who feel like they are channeling their hero, the Pioneer Woman, as they add splendid amounts of cheese to whatever they are making. Which seems like a great plan for how to justify whatever amount of cheese you might want to add to a recipe: When in doubt, think, What would Ree Drummond do? The answer, of course, is eat more cheese. Every single day.
