Calling all Pepsi fans: If you didn’t get a chance to enter the brand’s giveaway of their nostalgic Crystal Pepsi soda, mark your calendars for the latest innovation to launch from PepsiCo. This week, the longtime favorite cola brand announced that it’s soon releasing a brand-new drink: Nitro Pepsi — a nitrogen-infused version of the classic cola that’s “creamy and smooth, with a mesmerizing cascade of tiny bubbles topped off by a frothy foam head.”

According to Todd Kaplan, Pepsi’s vice president of marketing, the brand wanted to come up with a new way to enjoy Pepsi for people who aren’t wild about heavy carbonation. “Nitro Pepsi is a first-of-its-kind innovation that creates a smooth, creamy, delicious taste experience for fans everywhere. Much like how nitrogen has transformed the beer and coffee categories, we believe Nitro Pepsi is a huge leap forward for the cola category and will redefine cola for years to come,” he said in a press release

Nitro Pepsi will be available for purchase around the country beginning March 28, 2022, but you can pre-order yours now exclusively at Walmart.com. You can choose between two flavors — Draft Cola and Vanilla Draft Cola — both of which will be in newly designed cans available as single-serve and a four-pack. If you’re in Las Vegas though, you can also try Nitro Pepsi on tap beginning March 25 in the Sky Lounge at The High Roller Observation Wheel at THE LINQ Promenade.

Because Nitro Pepsi is meant to taste smoother than normal cola, the brand recommends consuming it differently, too. You could drink it straight from the can, but for the full experience, pour it into a tall glass and sip it without a straw (and make sure it’s served cold, without ice).

Need a refreshing drink to sip on now while you wait on this launch? Head to your local grocery store for a Starbucks Baya Energy Drink or stock your bar cart with these Black-owned wines, spirits, and mixers. Cheers!
