The internet’s latest food craze once again puts the air fryer front and center, and this time we’ve got a winner. Pasta chips are a crispy and extra-cheesy snack that have popped up on Tiktok, Instagram, and blogs at a rapid pace. Upon coming across the recipe, I was immediately intrigued (how could I not get behind anything pasta-related?). I also realized it was incredibly easy and I already had all of the ingredients in my pantry. I call that a win. This recipe is beyond versatile and goes great with various dipping sauces, including tomato, Alfredo, vodka, or pesto sauce

How to Make Pasta Chips

For this fried pasta snack, you start things off by bringing a pot of salted water to a boil, then adding your choice of pasta to cook until al dente. I chose medium shell noodles. After cooking your noodles, drain and place them into a mixing bowl.

Now it’s time to add some flavor to your noodles — use the spices you enjoy the most. I seasoned my noodles with smoked paprika, dried oregano, granulated garlic powder, black pepper, and kosher salt. In addition to seasoning, I went ahead and added some additional flavor by using grated Parmesan cheese and a few tablespoons of olive oil. The cheese and olive oil not only add excellent flavor, but they also help the pasta to become crispy while cooking in the air fryer

Finally, place the noodles in the air fryer basket and spread them into an even layer. Cook at 400°F for 10 minutes. You’ll end up with crispy, air-fried noodles you can serve with red sauce or your dipping sauce of choice.

My Honest Review

As expected, I’m in love with these pasta chips. I think they’re a great snack to have at your dinner parties or casual get-togethers because they’re quick, affordable, good for a crowd, and sure to impress. The pasta is crispy (but not in an uncooked way), and the flavors from the seasoning, olive oil, and Parmesan cheese add a delicious dynamic. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can whip up a whipped feta dip like the Feel Good Foodie did on Tiktok. Whenever you’re looking to expand your pasta portfolio, give pasta chips a try!

My #1 Tip for Pasta Chips

I used medium-sized shell noodles this time and they were the perfect size to pop in my mouth, although they weren’t the best for dipping. I would encourage you to select a noodle that will hold up to your dipping sauce and resemble a chip’s size (such as penne, farfalle, or rigatoni).
