The Gorgeous, Stackable Wine Glasses I Love for Serving Sips, Snacks, and Sundaes
Yes, eating three square meals a day is important, but for me, so is snacking and making sure I get in my daily dose of ice cream. Most afternoons, I’ll treat myself to a few small pieces of candy or a handful of savory crackers to keep my energy up, and even in the dead of winter, I always make time to enjoy some frozen yogurt (any flavor will do). So, you’ll understand why I was intrigued when I was offered the chance to test Our Place’s new Party Coupes, which are stackable wine glasses that can also be used for serving desserts and snacks. The brand’s Night + Day Glasses are my current everyday drinkware, so the wine glasses seemed like a nice addition. At the same time, I was a bit worried that the coupes might go mostly unused, sitting on a shelf and eating up my very limited cabinet space. Turns out I was very wrong! These little beauties have become part of my everyday routine, used for everything from sips to snacks to ice cream sundaes.
What Are the Our Place Party Coupes?
Created by the makers of the Internet-famous Always Pan (and more recently the Wonder Oven and Dream Cooker), Our Place’s handblown Party Coupes are made from sturdy soda lime glass that is naturally infused with colors that won’t fade, chip, or peel over time. Each coupe can hold 11 ounces, making it ideal for vino, cocktails, and mocktails, but because the glass is durable and not delicate, it’s so much more versatile. It can double as an elegant dessert cup for pudding, mousse, and ice cream, or as a classy candy dish for nibbles like nuts and M&M’s.
The Party Coupes come in two different colors — the pink-hued Day/Rosa (which I own, above) and the moody blue Twilight/Dusk. They can be purchased as a set of four for $95, but if you bundle up and buy two sets, the cost is $171 (a savings of $20).
Why I Love the Our Place Party Coupes
While I’ve used the coupes for the occasional glass of wine or mocktail, where they’ve really come into play is for my intermittent snacking (is that a thing?). Rather than grabbing a handful of this or that several times a day when I’m working from home, I now choose just one snack (usually dry-roasted edamame beans or sour gummy candies), pour it into a coupe, and keep it next to my laptop. I’m more mindful of how much I’m consuming, and I eat the portion gradually instead of all at once, so I no longer make multiple trips to the pantry.
I especially love using the coupes for ice cream. In the past, I would eat straight from the pint or half-gallon (I’m allowed, I live by myself!), and perhaps may have overindulged from time to time, but now I dole out two scoops, add some toppings if I’m in the mood, and I’m done. I not only feel satisfied, but also feel kinda fancy eating from this pretty glass.
While $95 may seem a bit splurgy for a set of four coupes, their durability and versatility make them a worthy investment. Space-saving, multipurpose wine glasses that you’ll be using for years to come? I’ll drink to that!
