I Tried Our Place’s New Ovenware Set and It Makes Cooking Weeknight Meals a Total Breeze

Insta-famous brand Our Place is known for producing some of the most stylish cookware you’ll ever set eyes on. There’s the cult-favorite Always Pan with its sleek shape and luxe colors, as well as its counterpart, the Perfect Pot, that can act as both a saucepan and Dutch oven among other things. Last week, Our Place announced their foray into the baking scene with the brand new Ovenware Set, a 5-piece bundle that includes everything you could want for all your roasting and baking needs. I was lucky enough to be sent the new Our Place bakeware set to test out ahead of launch (it doesn’t start shipping until early July, FYI!). Each set includes the Oven Pan, which is essentially a cross between a roasting pan and sheet pan, a trio of baking dishes including a loaf pan, casserole dish, and a medium sized baker for small batches, and the Oven Mat, a nonstick reusable silicone mat. Although it’s pricey at $195 each set, it’s perfect for someone who wants to check off all their essential bakeware in one go and look good while doing so.

As soon as I opened the box, I was enamored with the gorgeous look of each piece, especially the fashionable Oven Pan. I also immediately loved the three sizes of the baking dishes, with one perfect for loaves, another for casseroles, and the middle-sized piece ideal for small batches of veggies or other roasted dishes. As a person who cooks for one, I’ve been especially jazzed about this baking dish for making half-sized casseroles and one-pot dinners.

What impressed me most when I first used the Oven Pan was the size. I was able to fit a pound of potatoes, four chicken thighs, and two zucchinis without any overcrowding. I loved that I didn’t need to worry about any liquid pouring over either because of the tall sides. And, when it came time to clean up, everything washed off so easily that there was no tough scrubbing involved. 

Moving on to the baking dishes, the most obvious perk is the stoneware design and shiny glaze. Each piece is much more lightweight than I anticipated, so bringing out the casserole dish doesn’t feel like a chore. I also appreciate the wide ergonomic handles that are very easy to grip even with oven mitts on, so I feel more secure when taking a bubbling hot casserole out of the oven.

It can hold 3.5 quarts, making it plenty big enough for family-size meals. I used it to make a multi-layered casserole big enough to serve six with zero problem. Everything cooked through evenly, with the cheesy middle getting gooey and the top layer browning beautifully. Even though I had coated the bottom with a layer of thick refried black beans, I had no problem cleaning up as I wiped everything right off.

Ultimately, I think the biggest selling point about this Our Place bakeware set is the beautiful design of each piece.
