Here’s some good news to brighten up your week: One of our favorite DTC cookware brands, Our Place, just celebrated its one-year anniversary with the launch of a new colorway that’s ridiculously chic — say hello to the Always Pan in lavender! The dreamy hue was picked by their Instagram followers and, given the brand’s past history of consistently sold-out colors (remember the 30,000-person waitlist for Spice?), we’re pretty sure this one will likely not stay in stock for long.

If you’re wondering what all the hype is about, let me fill you in: I have had my own Always Pan (in beautiful Sage) for almost five months and use it many times a day. The multi-purpose pan promises to do the job of eight pieces of cookware, and yes, it delivers. The steamer basket makes it so easy to steam sprouts and veggies for salads, as well as dumplings for quick lunches, while the skillet itself is deep enough to cook an entire batch of saucy pasta without any spills. The biggest pro, though, is the ceramic nonstick surface, which is ideal for tricky items like crepes and delicate dosas, and also easy to clean. In fact, I once steamed a batch of sprouts and forgot to add water to the base, but was able to wash off the burnt brown spots with no problem. To say that I’m smitten with my Always Pan wouldn’t be an exaggeration.

And it’s not just me. Even Kitchn contributor Patty was thoroughly impressed with the results when she first tested the pan. “In the six months that I’ve been using the pan, I’ve never had a single scrambled egg stick, and dinner slides cleanly out — always,” she said. “If your go-to pan is a nonstick pan because you hate the cleanup that comes with cooking, this is a great, smart upgrade.”

Function aside, the Always Pan looks like a piece of art on your stovetop. It’s so pretty that I usually bring my pan directly to the dinner table. Besides a steamer basket, the pan also comes with a wooden spatula and water-activated dish scrub, although I use these scrubs, and they work just fine! Plus, the pan can go in the dishwasher, which is super convenient during busy weeknights.

While lavender is hands-down the prettiest color we’ve seen in a piece of cookware, the Always Pan also comes in four other equally lovely tones: Spice, Steam, Char, and Sage. The only hitch? You’ll need to grab your favorite color fast before it’s back to being sold out!
