Our Favorite Recipes from How To Cook Everything
1. Crab cakes
Bittman’s crab cake recipe is great. Just solid and reliably flavorful, with an emphasis on crab and less on the bread crumbs. We came back from Seattle for the first time with Dungeness crab in a box and it was our go-to. – Carrie
2. The illustrative tutorials
This isn’t a recipe per se, but the illustrations in that book of how to cut different vegetables and how to handle different cuts of meat were a huge help in [my formative cooking] years. – Carrie
3. Eggplant Parmesan
An eggplant parm where you can really taste the eggplant! – Cambria
4. Duxelles
The only way to eat mushrooms, ever. – Cambria
