The key to having a clean home? Having cleaning supplies that are organized and readily accessible. If your microfiber cloths and all-purpose cleaner are hard to find, you’ll clean less often, and get more frustrated in the process. Instead of letting your cleaning supplies get lost in a closet (or investing in a pricey organizing solution), try one of these simple-yet-effective methods.

1. Hang a shoe organizer over your pantry door.

Hanging your cleaning supplies in a shoe organizer with clear pockets is a great idea because you can see and find everything you need quickly and easily. If you don’t have a pantry door (or a pantry!), consider the door to your coat closet, linen closet, or the basement.

2. Invest in an expandable under-sink rack.

Most people we know store lots of cleaning supplies under the kitchen sink. But, more often than not, that space becomes a scary wasteland that no one wants to reach their hands into. This durable under-the-sink storage rack can take many forms, expanding or getting smaller depending on how large your storage space is and what you want to store. It’ll also fit around the pipes underneath your sink. And it’ll double your storage space, so you can finally make sense of everything in there.

3. Put IKEA’s iconic plastic bag dispenser to work.

Turns out this plastic bag dispenser is good for more than just storing bags! After attaching one to a wall, you can hang just about any spray bottle or brush from its holes, and store cloths, gloves, or, yes, bags, inside of it.

4. Install a tension rod.

Another quick fix for the tight space under your kitchen sink? Just install a tension rod, and hang your spray bottles on them! Now you’ll be able to grab your Windex or all-purpose cleaner in a pinch.

5. Load up a rolling cart.

If you want a swath of cleaning supplies to come with you to each room but you don’t want to carry a giant bin, then you’ll want something with wheels. A rolling cart with storage compartments is the perfect solution for organizing anything from spray bottles and Clorox wipes to paper towel rolls and larger bottles of detergent. To organize smaller items in the cart, just add a basket! This one is from IKEA, but we also love this round one from Target. Tuck the cart into a closet when it’s not in use.
