For many Americans, Tuesday is a highlight of their weeks for one reason: tacos. “Taco Tuesday” has been part of the cultural ethos for a while, but my latest recipe find has given the dish an unexpected twist. Instead of the savory flavors I’ve grown to associate with tacos, this recipe provides a sweet alternative — Oreo Cheesecake Tacos. America’s favorite cookie transformed into a delicious dessert taco. (Watch out, Choco Taco!)

Begin by crushing Oreos inside a pan or mixing bowl. These crushed pieces will be used throughout the recipe, so place them to the side. Next, to create the cookie cream goodness that will fill our tacos, mix the cream cheese, sugar, and butter until it’s nice and smooth. Then, fold in half of your crushed Oreos before placing it in the refrigerator.

As the Oreo cream cheese chills, you’ll create the white chocolate Oreo taco shells. Start by adding white chocolate chips and Hershey’s Cookies & Crème candy bar pieces into a pot of warm melted butter. Allow the contents of the pot to melt on low heat and turn your attention to the tortillas.

Heat the small tortillas at 350°F for a few minutes, making sure they don’t bend in the oven. Once the white chocolate mix has melted, use a spoon to coat the tortillas. Using a taco rack or the edges of a baking pan, mold the tortillas into a taco shell shape and place them in the freezer for 2-3 minutes to harden. For assembly, fill your taco shell with the cookie cream cheese filling, layer on some crushed Oreos, and top it off with your favorite whipped cream. And voilà! A tasty treat for any day of the week.

With Super Bowl Sunday around the corner, these tacos will surely be a hit at any viewing parties you attend. Or, if you’re looking to add some fun to an elevated at-home date night, nothing will beat the sweet taste of white chocolate and Oreos to bring out the inner child in all of us.
