The Ridiculously Delicious Snack I Reach for Every Single Day (The Flavors Are So Unique!)
Much like raisins, olives are one of those divisive foods that people either love or hate. Personally, I love both. And while I frequently keep raisins on hand to snack on or add to my breakfast oatmeal, I usually only buy olives for special occasions: rooftop drinks with friends, holiday antipasto platters, recipes that call for them, etc. However, I recently discovered a company that makes olives that are so ridiculously delicious that I’m stocking up on them for everyday eating: Olive My Pickle’s live culture olives. The little oval-shaped fruits come in a variety of creative flavors that are so good, I could honestly eat a whole bag in one sitting! And trust me — you’re going to want to make room in your fridge (and your tummy) for these olives too.
What Are Olive My Pickle Olives?
Olive My Pickle is a company that makes live-culture, probiotic fermented pickles, sauerkraut, kimchi, vegetables, and, of course, olives. The non-pasteurized olives come in 12 different flavors — including Almond Stuffed, Garlic Stuffed, Muffaletta Mix, classic Kalamata, and Greek Olive Mix — and are sold in 16-ounce bags filled with brine (no vinegar or sugars here). The bags can be ordered online in bundles of three, six, nine, or 12+, and you can choose to have the bundle delivered just one time or subscribe to have it delivered every two, four, six, or eight weeks. A one-time order of three bags of olives costs approximately $46.47, but discounts are offered on subscription bundles and deliveries. One important thing to note: These olives should be refrigerated as soon as they arrive at your home and kept in the fridge after opening as well.
Why I Love Olive My Pickle Olives
I was offered the opportunity to try any of Olive My Pickle’s olives, so I opted for two unique flavors: Tangerine Stuffed and Pickle My Olive. The idea of tangerine-stuffed olives intrigued me because I’d never seen that combo offered anywhere else, and it seemed like such a unique pairing. As soon as I opened the pack and popped one in my mouth, it was love at first bite: The tangy, slightly bitter green olive flavor is immediately followed by the citrusy kick of sweet-tart tangerine rind. These olives are a refreshing, zesty treat that are great on their own, but I like to pair them with summery cocktails like an Aperol spritz or a sparkling Negroni. I’ve also (begrudgingly) shared them with friends, and the olives were not only a crowd-pleaser, but also a conversation piece — tangerines and olives? Who knew?
Pickle My Olive is another fantastic, unexpected combo. Basically, these are green Queen olives that are brined in pickle juice (dill, garlic, onions, pickling spices, sea salt). The large olives taste exactly like a really good, deli-quality pickle and are my go-to for a quick midday or late-night snack. I pull two or three out of the pack, and I’m satisfied. What’s also great about these olives is that, unlike traditional jarred pickles, they don’t get rubbery or lose their bite.
Olive My Pickle’s olives are truly delicious, and I can’t wait to explore more flavors. If you’re ready to switch your drab olives for something more exciting, you can’t go wrong with these bundles of joy.
