This $23 Spray Mop Can Clean My Entire Main Floor (Hardwood and Tile!) in a Matter of Minutes
Between the constant food prep, kids traipsing in and out, and my cats wreaking havoc, I can’t seem to keep my kitchen floor looking clean for long. It seems like minutes after I mop in there, the floor is dirty again. And the high-traffic hardwood areas in the living and dining room are even worse! I’m a cleaning fanatic with a packed schedule, so when I see dirty splatters on the floor just days after carving out time for a thorough mopping, I just feel so deflated.
Although I have a great mop for deep cleaning, I don’t want to haul out its big, bulky bucket just to wipe up a day or two’s worth of spills and splats. But I can’t stand looking at those spots! So, I recently went on the hunt for a quick-mop solution.
Most options for quick jobs are single use, with pre-moistened towels meant for tossing in the trash when you’re done. They’re convenient, sure. However, I’m looking to minimize our household waste, not increase it. Then, I found the O-Cedar ProMist MAX Microfiber Spray Mop. It has a microfiber cloth that can be washed and reused. Could this be the answer to my daily dirty floor problems? I had to find out.
The first thing I noticed about this spray mop is that it’s lightweight and slim, even though it has a built-in tank for the cleaning solution. It’s easy to tuck away in my broom closet out of the way, but within reach — with no big bucket taking up tons of space.
The mop head is long and rectangular and has a thick microfiber cloth that is easy to remove and toss in the washing machine. Not only do I love being able to reuse it, but I also love that it’s two-sided. And I don’t mean that you can just turn the cloth inside-out. I mean that the head actually flips, so that you can use the bottom and the top of the microfiber cleaning head. With two usable sides, I can clean my entire first floor in a matter of minutes, without having reload a new microfiber cloth.
The head swivels and pivots on a dime to get into tight spaces, lays almost flat to get under low-clearance furniture, and has a little indented notch that makes it even more effective for getting up close to corners and table legs.
The cleaning solution from the tank gets dispersed by just a pull of the lever on the handle. Pull hard and you get a wide, fine spray that covers a large area. Pull more slowly and you can get a targeted spray to focus on one spot. Because the spray doesn’t swamp the floors in moisture, they are dry in about a minute after mopping.
This mop answered all my needs for a quick-mop solution. The only drawback is that it’s not the most ideal option for deep cleaning. The cloth doesn’t have a scrubby area, so it’s not the best at removing really stuck-on grime. And it couldn’t clean the grout in my tile floor as well as my regular mop. Still, for quick jobs in between deeper cleaning, this mop is the answer to my cleaning prayers!
