If you cook in a small kitchen or in an older kitchen with a unique layout, you may find there’s no good place to put the trash can where it isn’t in the way! That’s the dilemma Leah Verwey faced in a recent Sneak Peek on Design*Sponge, so her solution was to stash two smaller trash cans in the bottom of a repurposed vintage cart.

As she tells Design*Sponge, “We picked up [the cart] at a thrift store and threw a scrap of IKEA butcher top that we had already. It is sometimes an island, and sometimes tucked away to the side of the room, but at least we don’t kick the [trash] cans around and have a slice of more counter space.”

We love smart, small-space storage solutions like this. Have you found a clever way in your own kitchen to store your trash can?
