Perhaps you saw this post from late last week, announcing KitchenAid's new annual Color of the Year? (See: KitchenAid Just Announced Their Color of the Year.) If you didn't, you should take some time to read it now. (I'll wait!) Then come back to this post because, this weekend, I got to check out the special color in person.
See, this weekend I was at the International Home + Housewares Show, which takes place every March in the very cold and windy city of Chicago. (I'll be writing more about what I came across, so stay tuned!) At this show, KitchenAid almost always displays new stand mixer colors, which will be released throughout the year. I got to see the new hues and a few other gadgets that KitchenAid will be launching soon. And I took some pictures for you guys!
Whether you already have one, you're currently shopping for one, or you're just dreaming about owning a KitchenAid stand mixer, it's fun to know about (and see) the new options. Keep reading to check out the new colors — and a few other upcoming things from the brand!
1. Birds of Paradise
This is the new Color of the Year, which we talked about last week. A lot of readers said it was "yuck" but it's actually way more coral and bright than the original the photos lead us to believe. In person, I was into it! Look for it when it becomes available in April!
2. Dried Rose
Dried Rose is not quite Millennial Pink, which means it's not too trendy. It's also matte, which is a surprising finish for a pink appliance.
3. Blue Velvet
Another matte option, Blue Velvet seems like something that would fit right into an all-white kitchen.
4. Shaded Palm
Got a kitchen full of plants? A stand mixer in Shaded Palm will fit right in! This matte mixer is begging to go in a kitchen with lots of raw wood and succulents galore. It will be out right before the holidays.
5. Crimson Red
A little purple mixed with a little red, this Crimson Red color makes a bold statement. The glossy finish only adds to the richness.

The brand also showcased two new products that had me super excited. The first: even more bowl options. I loved the Birds of Paradise with this leaf-printed bowl, and there was a preppy stripped option, plus glass bowls for the Artisan Mini. (The Minis with glass bowl will be available in July and retail for $450.)
The second new announcement: A sifter attachment! It sifts and weighs flour and then dumps it directly into the mixer bowl or another vessel. It will retail for $170 and will be available later this year.
