Do you actually read package labels looking for good news about how your food and wine is produced? Well, now you can. Green-E is a new on-product packaging initiative that allows companies that use a renewable energy option to have a "made with renewable energy" claim on their packaging. Many food and wine companies are offering a Green-e certified product (see below the jump.)
The symbol signifies that companies are using certified renewable energy resources to power their businesses and offset the electricity needed to manufacture products. It is the only national certification program for renewable energy.
Is it just another cluttering product label, or is this a piece of information you'd like to know when you're at the market?
