Pinterest is a great resource that has done a lot of good for the world. It’s given us a source for gorgeous, creative recipes for virtually any diet or ingredient in the world. It’s provided endless DIY inspiration for makeup, crafts, home decor, and more, and it has seriously raised the bar on children’s birthday cakes. But hands-down my favorite thing about Pinterest is that it gave rise to the hilarious meme of cake failures emblazoned with the phrase, “Nailed it!”

A lot of the cake and pastry tutorials on Pinterest are set up as though recreating the beautiful, Instagram-ready original should be as easy as following the directions. Life doesn’t always work that way, though, and a lot of people find their Minion cakes or elegant Princess Elsa cookies wind up looking like shapeless, mutant messes, instead of the pretty pastries in the pictures. A lot of people have a sense of humor about it, though, and have been celebrating those cake fails for the hilarity they are.

Now Netflix is celebrating the beauty of the cake fail, too, with a new baking competition show called Nailed It that will debut next month.

According to the Netflix summary, in every episode the new baking competition show will feature three home bakers with a “terrible track record” attempting to recreate extremely complicated pastries for a $10,000 prize. It looks a lot like The Great British Bake Off if all the contestants were in an enormous hurry and only kind of knew how to bake, or maybe it looks more like The Ace of Cakes if the cakes were being made by the cast of American Idol.

The show is hosted by comedian Nicole Byer and famed chocolatier Jacques Torres, with a rotating cast of celebrities and pastry chefs as guest judges. The extreme cake failures are part of the fun, and the contestants seem to be in on the joke and have as much fun as the judges.

“Can’t forget the vodka,” one quipped as she set up her cake area.

All six episodes of the first season of Nailed It will be available on Netflix on March 9.
