In my opinion, some of the best breakfast options are satisfying and sweet. (Take a big stack of pancakes or pastries, for example.) If you’re a fan of sweet breakfasts, cereal, and KitKats, then you’re in for a treat.

Nestlé celebrated National Cereal Day on March 7 by announcing on social media that a new KitKat-inspired cereal is on the way. The catch? United States-based chocolate-lovers might not be able to get their hands on a box of the iconic candy-turned-cereal for a while.

The new cereal, which will launch next month in the U.K., promises that it “maintains the essence of the much-loved original chocolate bar” — according to a press release — and will have a composition reminiscent of its inspiration, with crispy cereal squares and a milk chocolate flavored-coating.

“This exciting new cereal delivers a delicious taste of KitKat and has been developed to cater to consumers who are looking for an occasional, indulgent breakfast option, that can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet,” Sarah Fordy, head of marketing at Cereal Partners U.K. & Ireland, said in a statement.

Although those local to North America might not be able to get their hands on a box immediately, there are other options that could possibly serve as a holdover (KitKat isn’t the first candy line to be reimagined as a cereal). Reese’s Puffs is just one example of a popular candy-inspired cereal already available in grocery stores, while the Little Debbie brand announced that a Nutty Buddy-flavored cereal would be hitting shelves last year.

Here’s hoping, though, that the KitKat cereal does so well across the pond that we get a shot at it over here. Otherwise, we may have to start asking some U.K. friends to ship a few boxes over!
