Watch the Trailer for Nadiya Hussain’s NEW Baking Show on Netflix
After she baked and charmed her way into everyone’s lives by winning the sixth season of The Great British Bake-Off way back in 2016, Nadiya Hussain drifted away from the flour and ovens that brought her fame. She followed up her victory with more general shows and books, including travelogue shows called The Chronicles of Nadiya and Nadiya’s British Food Adventure, then two cooking shows, Nadiya’s Family Favorites and Time to Eat, the latter of which came to Netflix last year. She also cooked the Queen’s 90th birthday cake in there somewhere. But now she’s getting back to her roots and her “first true love,” reports People, with her latest show, Nadiya Bakes. The show doesn’t hit Netflix until February 12, but fans can get a preview with the trailer, which is out now.
“Baking really is my happy place,” she says in the opening to the trailer. “And I want it to be yours, too.” The show mixes all styles of baking — her everyday breads and sweets, along with festive celebratory cakes — and also creations from other pastry chefs that she admires. The trailer shows her with the same accessible style that made her a fan-favorite on GBBO — like she is inviting everyone into her kitchen and just offering a few small, easy tips that take familiar treats to new levels.
The first episode, “Classics with a Twist,” features ice cream-flavored cupcakes, a spicy toad-in-the-hole plus Instagram baker Julie Jones. Throughout the eight episodes (which have already aired across the pond), she makes “bakes to share,” “budget bakes,” and ends with “celebration cakes” starring an ornate king cake. She ends the trailer by encouraging viewers to watch, and with a phrase that seems like a good one to weave into everyday life, too: “Let’s bake, eat, and be happy.”
