When it comes to choosing a favorite Great British Bake-Off contestant (a near-impossible task), my answer would be: All of them. Every baker in the tent feels like a friend, and I’m devastated whenever someone has to go home. But if I had to choose a top five favorite (still hard, but not impossible), then I know Nadiya Hussain would be in that pool.

Nadiya won the sixth season of Great British Bake-Off in 2015. She struggled in the beginning, but quickly rose up the ranks with her incredible bakes. (I mean, did you see her floating soda can cake?) What’s more, her personality is simply infectious, and even after the show, she has continued to delight and educate cooks all over the world.

Given all this, it didn’t come as a surprise when Netflix announced a new show with the Bake-Off queen. Nadiya’s Time to Eat will debut on April 29 — and you’d better believe we’re tuning in.

If you thought the show would just be about baking, you’re in for a surprise. As the trailer above shows, Nadiya will be focusing on helping busy families get food on the table. “No matter what I’m juggling, I still want to feed my family delicious food, ” she explains. In order to make cooking more enjoyable, while also less time consuming, Nadiya says she’s embraced the shortcut. “I’ve stopped feeling guilty about taking shortcuts, and I started to embrace every cheat in the book.”

In addition to sharing her favorite “cheats,” Nadiya will also explore exactly how some of her favorite shortcut ingredients are made.

While we might not be getting a new Great British Bake-Off show for a while, this surprise from Netflix might just make up for that. Nadiya’s soothing disposition and focus on family-style cooking is what we all want (and need) right now.
