Somewhere around June, it finally settled in that our all-consuming home renovation was over (it took six months for the exhaustion to ebb) and that I could possibly have energy for tiny satisfying projects like organizing the kitchen junk drawer. I have plenty of room under my sink; it's just seriously disorganized, with everything thrown into an icky old tub. I don't have to store trash and recycling under the sink; I have a separate pull-out for that. The sink area is for cleaning supplies, sponges, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, and old rags and cleaning scrubbers I haven't gotten around to throwing out yet (seriously).

So, I crave your advice, dear readers, and a peek at your own sinks', ahem, nether regions. I am sure most of you are way ahead of me — have you organized yours into Martha-esque vistas of splendor? Or do you need to jump in with me and get your sink cupboard cleaned on one of these lazy summer evenings? I'd appreciate any advice, especially on products: have you found good organizers or hacks for keeping this dark corner of the kitchen chipper and neat?
