10. Slow Cooker Whole Chicken Soup

I like to reserve this chicken soup for Sundays, when it can do its thing in the slow cooker all day, and then I stash it in the fridge so Monday's dinner only requires a quick reheat.

9. Brown Rice Bowl with Lentils, Caramelized Onions & Fried Egg

I eat bowl meals, like this one, at least a couple of times a week. When all the components are prepped in advance, all that's left to do is fry an egg and assemble the bowls.

8. Weeknight White Chicken Chili

Even though this creamy chili is doable after getting home from work, I always prefer making it the night before I actually want to eat. It tastes even better after it's had some time to sit.

7. Vegan Chili

The same goes for this hearty two-bean and lentil chili. Plan to serve it for dinner a night or two after you whip it up, and it will be even better than when it first came off the stove.

6. Fried Potatoes and Sausage Skillet

This skillet is finished with a squeeze of lemon and a shower of herbs that really make it stand out. And to keep those ingredients as bright as can be when I make it in advance, I always wait until I'm actually ready to serve this skillet to add the finishing touches.

5. Sirloin Steak Sandwiches

The pickled onion and Dijonaise spread can be prepped days in advance and stashed in the fridge until whenever these sandwiches show up in your meal plan. Same goes for the steak — these sandwiches will be a hit with warm or cold meat.

4. How To Make Calzones at Home

My favorite thing about calzones is that they freeze like a dream, and can be cooked straight from the freezer.

3. Easy Spanish Tortilla Casserole

Here's how to make breakfast for dinner easy as can be. Like a Spanish tortilla, this garlicky egg and potato casserole is just as irresistible eaten at room temperature of pulled straight from the fridge as it is served warm and straight from the oven.

2. How To Make the Best Basic Pizza Dough

To get a jump on pizza Friday, I make a point to pull the dough together a night or two in advance, after cleaning up from dinner. It will hold up for about three days in the fridge and even longer in the freezer.

1. How To Make a Frittata with Whatever You Have on Hand

Not only will this make-ahead miracle meal help you clean out the crisper, but it also can be eaten warm, straight from the fridge, or even as a sandwich (my personal favorite!).
