The Most Popular Food Show on TV Right Now Isn’t “The Great British Baking Show”

There’s no denying the appeal of food shows on television. Who doesn’t love watching contestants work frantically under pressure to whip up creative, beautifully inspired dishes? Or learn a new kitchen skill from a great chef? And while there are so many shows to choose from — and they all offer interesting tips and entertainment value — there are 10 that have stood out, receiving the most views and biggest fan base. 

So, what’s the top television food show right now? The Hollywood Reporter recently went in depth with food TV and said that 24 Hours to Hell and Back took the top spot. In case you’re not familiar with the show (gasp!) it’s where renowned chef and television personality Gordon Ramsay helps struggling restaurants pinpoint problems and strategizes to make their businesses successful. And as you can imagine from the title, it’s pretty riveting — anything with the word hell in it means there’s going to be some angst and excitement, right?

In the Fox series show, you’ll watch Ramsay travel to various cities in his state-of-the-art mobile kitchen, Hell On Wheels, visiting places like Memphis and Los Angeles, to rescue businesses and get them back on track all within 24 hours. First, Ramsay brings in his team to record a secret surveillance and gather data, and then he goes in undercover to experience the issues first-hand. From there, they use that 24 hours to create amazing restaurant interior renovations, new menus, and strategies for the future. Once those 24 hours are up, the restaurants have public re-opening parties to witness the specular changes. There are currently two seasons to stream and enjoy, and based on reviews, there’s likely to be a third.
