As a shopping writer at The Kitchn, I’m constantly surrounded by talk of the latest and greatest food trends. One product I kept hearing my colleagues rave about was Momofuku’s Chili Crunch — an oil that gives off the perfect punch of heat and texture. I was intrigued but hadn’t tried it myself yet. However, when I tried the Momofuku x Milk Bar Chili Crunch Super Crunchy Cookies, I found myself reaching them again and again. They may be small in size, but typically, that amount would be enough to upset my stomach.

To my surprise, though, I felt completely fine. The cookies are made without artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives, and I honestly think that made a difference for me. But aside from that, they’re simply delicious. The Chili Crunch flavor is subtle — almost faint — but if you really focus, you can catch it. What I love most is the savory edge these cookies have, their perfectly snackable size for an after-dinner treat, and how amazing they taste paired with milk.
