Molly Yeh Says Her First Restaurant Will Be a “Magical, Delicious, Cozy Wonderland”
Less than four months ahead of the release of her new cookbook, Home Is Where The Eggs Are, and four months after the arrival of her youngest daughter, Food Network star Molly Yeh has announced her next major project: her first restaurant.
The Girl Meets Farm host shared the news via Instagram, offering fans a first look at the East Grand Forks, Minnesota, location that will become the new restaurant, Bernie’s. “Last year we took over a beautiful historic space on the banks of the Red River, where we plan to celebrate the cuisine of East Grand Forks,” Yeh explains in the caption.
She added that the hometown restaurant will combine Midwest traditions, Scandinavian flavors, local ingredients, and “REALLY GOOD BREAD,” welcoming diners to a “magical delicious cozy wonderland.”
According to the Grand Forks Herald, Bernie’s takes over a space vacated by Sickie’s Garage Burgers and Brews in August of last year. The restaurant, which was an extension of a chain of actual garages, cited “the initial pandemic shutdown and the ongoing staffing issues experienced thereafter” as the reason behind the end of their six-year run at that location.
As she enters the final stages towards opening her first restaurant — which is named after her 2-year-old daughter with husband Nick Hagen — Molly is inviting fans to watch the journey in real time by following @berniesegf on Instagram.
Home Is Where The Eggs Are, which is Yeh’s second cookbook, is due out on September 27.
