We’re big believers that you don’t have to spend a lot of money for a quality piece of cookware. Case in point: Milo‘s cult-favorite Dutch ovens, which we love because they perform just as well as those made by the major legacy brands, but for about a third of the price. In fact, from now through May 5, you can save an additional 20% on Milo’s Dutch ovens with code SAVE 20, scoring the 5.5-quart Classic model for $76 (normally $95) or the smaller 3.5-quart Mini Dutch for $60 (normally $75). In other words, you can get two beautiful, durable Milo Dutch ovens for the price of a 1-quart Le Creuset (we checked!). Plus, everything ships for free.

We’ve put Milo’s Dutch oven to the test, and it passed with flying colors. Kitchn contributor Danielle Centoni even claimed that it performed as well as her beloved Le Creuset and Staub Dutch ovens! The direct-to-consumer brand’s Dutch oven eventually became so popular with the Kitchn team that every single editor included one on their 2019 holiday wishlist.

So what makes Milo’s Dutch oven so great? Aside from its mastery at turning out crusty, bakery-worthy bread loaves, it can boil water quickly, gently simmer soups and chilis, and make one-pot meals. Thanks to the snug lid, you can cook large batches of grains without worrying about scorching, and make tender, long-cooking braises in the oven. The pot features high walls that prevent food from splattering, which is particularly helpful if you’re browning meat or deep-frying

Milo’s Dutch ovens, which are oven safe up to 500 degrees, are available in white, black, and emerald green, although the green color is currently sold-out in the 5.5-quart size. Take note that the white Dutch oven’s glossy exterior enamel carries over to the inside of the pot, so you’ll be able to view the browning of ingredients especially well, but you may need a little more elbow grease to maintain the pristine surface. (We’re not afraid of a little patina, but you do you!)

Whichever color or size of the Milo Dutch oven you choose, don’t be afraid to put it to work. And don’t be afraid to leave it on display when you’re done. I mean, how gorgeous is that thing?
