Michael B. Jordan has listed one of his two Los Angeles-area homes, and it is truly a home chef and entertainer’s dreams. Not only does the sleek modern farmhouse boast five separate areas designated for gathering over food; the state-of-the-art kitchen is equipped with two islands!

Despite the abundance of counterspace surrounding it, one of the islands in the Royal Hills home is intended to be an additional, functional work surface with a built-in sink and water filter included. The black marble island also serves as a striking contrast to the rest of the decor in the kitchen, which features white cabinets, a white marble backsplash throughout, gold trim and accents, and light oak storage drawers.

The kitchen’s second island — one that matches the drawers and flooring — is the closest dining area to the cooking space. The entire area seems designed to foster a communal vibe, opening right onto the family room; while an attached breakfast nook also offers the option for a more intimate setting.

The 12,300-square-foot home also features a formal dining room on the main floor, an outdoor covered dining area as one of the many options for lounging around the pool, and a barbecue pit complete with a counter and bar seating for four.

Bringing friends and loved ones together around drinks instead? The house also features an above-ground wine cellar — a temperature-controlled room with glass walls that allow you to enjoy the geometric shelving. Right outside of the wine room is a wet bar and even more seating for guests.

The three-level contemporary build might be perfect for entertaining, especially since the large motorcourt offers plenty of guest parking. But even with eight bedrooms, it manages to embody a calm and cozy feel. The master suite, referred to as a retreat in the listing, features its own sitting area, complete with fireplace and the option for a wall-mounted TV; as well as dual walk-in closets and bathrooms, and another lounging space on the private glass-lined balcony.

It probably wouldn’t surprise you that Creed star also chose a home with designated spaces for exercise. The lower-level gym and spa avoids the darkness one might expect in a basement area gym thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a small personal pool and terrace.

The gorgeous main residence is complemented by a detached two-story guest house, and a separate bungalow currently used for massages. The three structures transform the pool area into an inviting secluded oasis that radiates warmth, contrasting the home’s ultramodern black exterior and design.

While he’s unloading this gorgeous home after just a year — looking to make a $500,000 profit over the $12.5 million purchase price he scored it for — Michael B. Jordan won’t be leaving Hollywood completely. The intent, however, does seem to be to downsize.

The 35-year-old sold his $7 million bachelor pad in Hollywood Hills, but is holding on to a smaller home in Sherman Oaks that was purchased in 2015 for a modest $1.7 million.
