The $10 Amazon Organizer That Totally Transformed My Tiny Pantry (I Bought 4!)
I can’t say with confidence that I’m the most organized person, however, if there’s a way to make my overstuffed apartment look somewhat tidy, then I’m going to try it. After about a year of having items spill out of my pantry, I decided it was time to take a stand and try to get my pantry organized.
A few months back I came across these popular clear plastic bins from mDesign (with nearly 2,000 five-star Amazon reviews and counting) and figured they might be able to help me organize at least a few of my pantry items. The best part? They were only $10 each — that’s pretty wallet-friendly, if you ask me.
My first impression was that they were durable to the touch despite being made from plastic. Additionally, they were on the smaller side (about 14.5 inches by 4 inches by 4 inches), which was perfect for my tiny apartment kitchen, where less is definitely more. I decided to put them in my snack pantry, as that’s where most of the disarray happens. I used one bin to hold beans, dried fruits, and crackers, and the other one to keep my chickpea pastas separated.
After having them for a few months, not only do I love how they look, but I also love how transparent they are so I know exactly what’s inside. Plus, they’re easy to access and can be moved or rearranged in seconds, thanks to their built-in handles. They’re also totally stackable so if you’re looking to maximize your space, then you can work vertically too for smaller items. In terms of keeping them clean, I’ve only washed them a few times since having them, but it’s no hassle at all with some warm soap and water.
While I love them in my snack pantry, they’d do wonders in the fridge (especially for lunch-making prep), under my sink cabinet, or even on my countertops — not to mention all the other places around the house they’d be great for. If you’re looking for another size, the clear plastic organizers come in eight different sizes in sets of one, two, four, or eight.
At the end of the day, my only regret is not buying more because the rest of my kitchen could definitely use an upgrade! Whether you live in a small apartment or a tiny dorm room, or you have a kitchen with plenty of space to get disorganized, you can’t go wrong with these budget-friendly bins to transform your space.
