Matt & Zack's Historic and Masculine Kitchen

Matt and Zack live in a historic part of Philadelphia, and their home certainly reflects that. The extra-high ceilings certainly come in handy in the kitchen, giving much needed square footage and storage options. There's also something intriguing and beautiful about a French door entrance to a kitchen.

We love the simplicity and the all around richness of this kitchen. The cabinets are bright white and extremely tall and lean. The handles perfectly accent the height as well as the stainless steel appliances throughout. The backsplash couldn't have been more perfect for this kitchen. It's white to match the cabinets, but has shades of brown to accent the rich colors on the floor and decor.

Can we talk about the fabulous desk? We never knew we wanted a desk in our kitchen until we saw this one. It's the perfect addition, and could be extremely useful!

The best part about it? They found the marble slab being thrown away and then picked up the legs in a local thrift store — the whole thing cost them under $20!

Another point of interest is their masculine bar stand. It's made from a simple rack that can picked up at any hardware store, but the way they styled it almost transports us to a different time when walking in the door and pouring a stiff drink was as normal as taking your shoes off.
