We’re not going to deny it: We are huge fans of Material’s Coated Pan that’s supposed to last up to 37 (!!) times longer than regular nonstick cookware. We’ve tested it for ourselves, and it’s no surprise that it’s constantly selling out, because it really does live up to the hype. So when we found out that the direct-to-consumer brand is launching one of their most popular pieces in a brand-new color, we were thrilled. That’s why we’re making space in our cabinets for the gorgeous Dune-colored Coated Pan.

Priced at $95, the Coated Pan in Dune is a subtler version of its stunning green predecessor. The color is soft yet neutral, which means it’ll easily pair with your existing cookware and blend into your kitchen color scheme. Just like the O.G. pan, the new edition has chrome-colored finishes and a slightly shiny glaze that make it look fantastic on your stovetop.

The new color packs in all the features we love about the original. For starters, it’s coated in a mineral nonstick finish that’s fume free, as well as PFOA free, Teflon free, lead free, and cadmium free. Kitchn writer Danielle tested the pan and noted that because of the unique coating, she needed very little oil or butter while cooking, and even tricky items like eggs, pancakes, and crepes “slid out perfectly.” The pan is further reinforced with stainless steel (one of the main reasons it lasts so much longer than ceramic) and has a copper core that can withstand incredibly high temperatures without warping or bending. It’s also oven safe up to 500 degrees, which is helpful if you want to give your frittatas a finishing stint in the oven.

When it comes to handling the pan, it’s incredibly lightweight and easy on your wrists but still has heft. As Danielle noted, “At 2 pounds 12 ounces, it’s just one ounce lighter than an All-Clad skillet of the same size.” But unlike an All-Clad, it comes in a gorgeous new color and costs half the price. Judging by the pan’s track record (it’s already sold out more than three times since launching!), you’ll want to get your hands on Dune STAT. While you’re at it, make sure to snag a second one for the favorite chef in your life.
