If there’s one thing I could eat multiple times a week, it’s a form of noodles. (Okay, okay, I can also eat pizza and nachos that often too!) From pasta to ramen, in my mind, there’s really no way to have a “bad” noodle. While I believe that noodles are some of the easiest and quickest things to make — especially when you’re in a time crunch or are borderline starving — I’m always looking for a way to make something that’s simple to make, even simpler.

And thanks to @nutritionbykylie, I can now add an even simpler option to my list of things to try: Mason jar noodles. Calling it “easy meal during the busy week,” Kylie — who’s page focuses on “making healthy living fun, easy, and realistic” — says this Mason jar prep will include everything you need for a delicious meal.

After getting your jar of choice, add your sauces (which include soy sauce, oyster sauce, and Better Than Bouillon Roasted Chicken Base). If you would like a low-sodium option, however, you can opt for low-sodium versions of each. After adding the base sauce, follow with some veggies, protein of choice, the noodles, and any garnish you may want. The great thing about this Mason jar recipe is that it’s fully customizable to include whatever you’d like! The only thing that you need to make sure of, however, is that your noodles are put in last to be kept away from your base (so they stay dry).

While prepped jars can be stored in the fridge for up to four days, if you’re looking to eat your creation immediately, you’ll add boiling (or hot) water to the jar, let sit for five to 10 minutes, and shake up its contents to combine. If storing in your fridge, be sure to let the jar come to room temperature before completing the above steps so that your jar doesn’t crack from thermal shock.

Although I love the idea of having noodles on hand with this Mason jar hack, I’m sure there are plenty of other recipes I could do the same with. To keep things simple to start, I’ll use these Mason jar oatmeal recipes as inspiration.
