Martha Stewart’s Garden Vegetable Frittata Is Our New Favorite Way to Start the Day
Recently, Martha Stewart shared her own cheesy vegetable frittata,, which she was making in advance of a cross-country flight. “We are about to eat squares of it on our flight to Los Angeles,” she wrote in the caption of the Instagram post.
While Martha didn’t go into specifics of her recipe, she did share a series of photos that gave an idea of the method. It starts with slicing potatoes. Meanwhile, in a skillet, there are sliced onions being sautéed with salt and pepper. She then builds her baking dish — starting with oiling the pan — then adding a bunch of fresh spinach, her sautéed onions, the potatoes, eggs, and both Monterey Jack and Gruyère cheese. This all gets baked in a 375°F preheated oven for 35 minutes.
Although fans might have to do a little guesswork when it comes to measurements for this particular recipe, Martha does have over 100 frittata recipes on her website, which suggests this is a beautiful dish idea to throw in whatever fresh veggies, herbs, and other ingredients you have around and want to enjoy. Whether that ends up being fresh vegetables from your garden, a favorite blend of cheeses, or leftover turkey or shrimp from last night’s dinner, it can all be thrown together into a hearty dish to enjoy for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or even dinner. Or, if you’re Martha Stewart, to enjoy as a snack on a flight to Los Angeles to meet Snoop Dogg to film the Puppy Bowl.
What a life!
