6 Magical Recipes to Enjoy While Watching the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
I am going to be perfectly honest with you: I am too much of a wimp to watch the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on my own. But my husband watched a few episodes when I was out of town, and became a fan. So now he’s been pestering me to try watching it with him. The original series, “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” (or the comic it was based on) was anything but scary — but this new series is a bit darker.
One thing that gives me the confidence to press play, however, is having good food within reach. When things get tense, being able to turn my attention away and focus on refilling a plate, or taking a bite, makes it easier to remember that it’s just a show.
But if I’m going to watch a spooky series about witches and warlocks, I can’t munch on any old bag of chips. I want to nosh on food that is just as magical as — though a lot more comforting than — the show itself. These mystical bites make watching Sabrina, Harvey, and Salem more fun than spooky.
1. Molten Midnight Brownies
If you’ve ever wondered what the secret is to the darkest-hued chocolate treats, the answer is black cocoa powder. This nifty ingredient make these brownies as dark as night, so Salem the cat would approve. It also ensures they’re some of the richest and most decadent desserts around.

2. Loaded Black Bean Nachos
What’s magical about these nachos? Black bean tortilla chips lend a (very) slightly spooky vibe to the spread. But they’ve also got enough good things like beans and veggies in there that they make for a totally acceptable, hands-free dinner in front of the TV.

3. Pepperoni Chips
Just like all teenagers, Sabrina, Harvey, and the gang love a good pizza. While I am not sure what their topping of choice would be, spicy pepperoni is my best guess. This one-ingredient recipe is pretty much magic: It makes the pizza disappear! What you’re left with is baked slices of pepperoni transformed into a crunchy, salty snack that’s all too easy to eat.

4. Smoky Puff Pastry Stars
Since the witches work their magic at night, under the stars, serving up these flaky puff pastry bites only seems fitting. Smoked paprika ups the spooky element. However, feel free to make them your own and sprinkle them with grated Parmesan or garlic powder instead.

5. Black Magic Sangria
Any good binge-watching session is definitely work shaking up a cocktail for. This deep, dark red wine sangria is the perfect choice. It looks like a magical potion and also happens to be the perfect thing to wash down those midnight brownies.

6. Witches’ Hat Cookies
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is most importantly about the teenage witch herself. So it only seems appropriate to make a batch of these playful cookies. Since the recipe calls for store-bought cookies and Hershey’s kisses, they come together in a matter of minutes.
