Thanksgiving might be over now, but that doesn’t mean my love for fruity, custardy, decadent pies is, too. I love baking this time of year because I get to indulge in all the fun, seasonal flavor combinations. And I can’t help but think of how many of those would make for amazing pie flavors (peppermint mocha pie, anyone?). When I decide on the perfect pie to make for my family’s Christmas party this year, I’ll be ready — because I recently got my hands on a pretty dish that will look right at home on my family’s holiday table.

This pie dish is part of Made In’s Pie Serving Set, which gave me the two most important items I need to successfully serve the dessert to my family: a classy dish and a stainless steel server, which keeps me from scrambling to find one in my mom’s kitchen drawers. Better yet, you can snag this set at a $15 discount on Made In’s site right now!

What Is the Made In Pie Serving Set?

Made In’s Pie Serving Set is a pretty straightforward duo, complete with a beautiful, timeless-looking porcelain pie dish and a stainless steel server that complements it. You can choose from three different color options for your pie dish, including one with a red rim, one with a navy rim, or a purely white pie dish. I went with the red rim, and it’s so cute! I have found the red gets a little darker upon baking, but I love the little pop of color it adds. It feels so festive this time of year, but because it’s just a tiny line around the rim, it could also totally work throughout the year without coming off as holiday-centric.

Beyond how nice it looks, this pie dish is also really easy to work with. It’s truly nonstick; it can handle super-hot ovens (up to 650°F, a temperature that I don’t even think my oven can reach). It can also go into your microwave for reheating or your freezer if you’re serving ice cream. Once everyone has devoured the pie, it can be cleaned in the dishwasher. If that wasn’t enough, this set is currently on sale for nearly 20% off, making it just $69.

Why I Love the Made In Pie Serving Set

I have been in a little bit of a baking rut lately. Mostly, I’ve just been baking from box mixes because it’s what I’ve had the time and energy for during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. However, Made In’s Pie Serving Set has genuinely inspired me to dive deeper into the world of pies — a type of baking that I really only get into for Thanksgiving. My eyes are starting to open to all the things I could do with this versatile dish. In fact, I found a quiche recipe last night that I’m already planning to test.

So far, though, I’ve made a blueberry pie and an apple pie, and there are two things I immediately loved about the dish. For one, it was so easy to get slices out of the pan. It truly didn’t stick at all, so I was able to get nice-looking pieces out of it. Second, I’m neither a scientist nor a professional pastry chef,  but I have a suspicion that the porcelain aspect of the pan kept my pie from burning.

With my apple pie in particular, I noticed the crust around the edges had gone past golden and were approaching burnt territory. I could tell that the center of my top crust was not fully baked, so I had to let it go for a little longer. I didn’t even cover the edges in foil; I just let it be. When I took my pie out of the oven and cut into it after it had cooled, I noticed none of it was burnt! In my experience with metal pans, once you the top and/or edges start to look a little too brown, it’s probably too late for the bottom of your bake. Luckily, that wasn’t the case here! Safe to say, I was very impressed (and relieved).

There is seriously so much to love about this pie set: The pretty pan and server, how well the dish bakes, and the fact that both pieces are easy to clean (just to name a few). But what I’ve loved most about this set is how it’s inspiring me to whip up pies for fun instead of just for holiday gatherings (although I’m definitely using it for that, too!). Make sure to grab it while it’s on sale if you’re itching to try out new recipes, too!
