We saw this photo on the Coastal Living website and it reminded us of our post yesterday on plates that don’t fit in standard cabinets. This is one solution…

The plate rack is mounted over the sink, directly in front of the window, so it doesn’t require a big stretch of wall but also doesn’t block light from coming in.

If this look is too country for you, there are definitely more modern plate racks (simple, unfinished wood or stainless stell) out there that would serve the same purpose. We think it’s a pretty interesting use of available space.
