Look! Candied Whole Clementines

Remember our love for Nigella's clementine cake? Well, this new little product from Market Hall Foods could put one of those easy cakes over the top this fall.

These whole candied clementines are new at Market Hall Foods, one of our favorite sources for splurges and special food treats. Reading their catalog is a guilty pleasure - full of sultry olive oils, exotic fruits and grains, and all manner of sweets.

The candied clementines are all natural and made without preservatives. As they say, the ingredient list is short and sweet: orange peel, sugar and glucose. The clementines are just poached in sugar syrup, and then the sweet, pretty things could be used to decorate a cake, line a dessert platter, or dress up anything else needing a pop of orange this season.

We like their bright orange color (like mini pumpkins) and we think they might be a good little splurge for Halloween. Small touches like these or Market Hall's candied flowers can be good places to splurge a little. You can dress up an otherwise inexpensive meal with just the right touch.

Or you could try making these yourself; have you ever poached a clementine?
