A few months ago I got my hands on the viral Dubai Chocolate Bar — a milk chocolate bar packed with toasted kataifi covered pistachio cream — at the Nuts Factory, and (spoiler!) it was incredible. It’s rare for an internet-viral item to truly live up to the hype, but this one did and I’m better for it.

Getting my hands on that bar wasn’t exactly easy. I visited the store three times, and then shelled out $20 for the one bar. Delicious, yes. But is it realistic to buy on a regular basis? Definitely not.

I actually haven’t had one since then as a result. That is, until I saw Lindt, the gourmet Swiss chocolate brand famous for those shiny wrapped truffles, release its own version. So naturally, I had to try it.

What You Should Know About Lindt Dubai Chocolate Bar

The famed Dubai chocolate bar (aka the FIX Dessert Chocolatier Can’t Get Knafeh of It Chocolate Bar) started going viral sometime last year, and the hype has yet to die down. Lindt is one of the first big-name brands to release a version of its own: The Lindt Dubai Chocolate Bar (which is its official name) by the team’s Master Chocolatiers (also its official name). Similar to the viral sensation, it contains pistachio butter, crispy kataifi (crunchy pastry shreds), and tahini, all encased in a milk chocolate bar.

The bars are limited-edition, and debuted last week in the store’s New York Empire State Shop. The initial launch included just 300 bars. The 5.3-ounce bars retail for $14.99 each, which is still pricey, but $5 less than the one I sampled over the summer. I was one of the lucky few to snag a bar (and was actually second in line!) before they quickly sold out.

If you blinked and missed this very narrow launch, don’t despair. Lindt Dubai Chocolate Bars will be popping up on shelves across the country in 2025 (although the brand has yet to share more details on the exact timing).

My Honest Review of Lindt Dubai Chocolate Bar

With how much I loved the Nuts Factory version of the Dubai chocolate bar, I had very high expectations for the Lindt version. Biting into the chocolate bar, I was expecting it to be rich, creamy, and full of nutty pistachio flavor. After I snapped a few photos (the bar is stunning!) I broke into it and took a bite. TL;DR: It’s just as incredible.

The chocolate itself is smooth, almost butter-like, and sweet without being too sweet. But just like the bar from the Nuts Factory, the pistachio-knafeh filling is incredibly crunchy, nutty, rich, and totally delicious. There’s also a bit of tahini, which gives it an extra earthy, nutty flavor that I love. All in all it’s velvety, sweet, and super tasty.

The only — very minor — critique that I have is that I wish the bar itself was a little thicker (similar to the original one I tried). The pistachio filling and chocolate are about a 1-to-1 ratio, and I wish there were a bit more of the crunchy pistachio bits. The milk chocolate is also fabulous so I can’t be too upset.
