The “Delicious” Frozen Stromboli I Can’t Wait to Serve on Super Bowl Sunday (It’s SO Good!)
Next to Thanksgiving, Super Bowl Sunday is my favorite food event of the year. From buffalo chicken dip and pigs in a blanket to sliders and, of course, an array of wings, it’s a day made for reveling in comfort food. While these foods are all essentials in my book, this year, I’ve found a new staple that I’m bringing to the party — and I think you just might do the same thing, too.
Because I’m going to a Super Bowl party that’s also doubling as a birthday celebration, I wanted to bring something special. So, I turned to one of my favorite places for scoring a delicious appetizer: QVC. Now QVC may not be the first place you think of when it comes to buying tasty treats, but I’ve found many a food gem while scrolling the site, and I struck gold, yet again, when I came across Leonetti’s Authentic Stuffed Stromboli.
What Is Leonetti’s Authentic Stuffed Stromboli?
A beloved Philadelphia institution, Leonetti’s is renowned for its delicious stromboli — and now through QVC you can get it delivered straight to your door. While it’s available in a host of flavors, let’s talk about my favorite: the Italian deli. Housed in Leonetti’s delicious oregano-flaked dough, inside each of these stromboli you’ll find a blend of Genoa salami, prosciutto, Italian ham, pepperoni, mozzarella, and provolone. Talk about a tasty mix!
Why I Leonetti’s Authentic Stuffed Stromboli
As someone from the Northeast, two of my favorite things are stromboli and a great Italian deli sub (You can imagine how excited I was to try this). Now, I needed to make sure these stromboli were good before I showed up with them on Super Bowl Sunday, so you can bet my family and I happily put these to the test.
In just 20 minutes in my toaster oven, these stromboli came out perfect, with a crisp outside and a gooey, cheesy center. Something we all really appreciated was how well-balanced everything was — not too much cheese, not too much meat, and the most delicious bread topped with a dusting of oregano. Best of all, they cut up really well (one roll gave us six hefty slices!) Needless to say, they passed the test.
If you’re looking to switch up your game day spread a bit this year, I couldn’t recommend Leonetti’s stromboli more (and neither can my family; my dad’s already asking me to order more). With the big game less than a week away, I’d jump on this ASAP. It might just be the thing that brings a bit of peace during halftime. And oh yeah, go Birds!
