You may or may not have noticed a lot of lemon-related stories on the site this spring. The thing about lemons is that they make for excellent cleaning tools. They’re loaded with citric acid, which can eliminate stains or combine with alkaline compounds to create a powerful chemical reaction.

You could go to the store to buy cleaning supplies, or you could hit up your pantry and pull out a couple of lemons (plus a few other ingredients — white distilled vinegar and baking soda, for example) to make your own cleaning supplies from scratch. There are tons of things you can whip up, including an ant repeller, all-purpose cleaner, grout scrubber, and more.
